Both the name and the architectural lines are, in fact, inspired by the polis as it was conceived by the ancient Greeks, with clean and geometric lines, local materials such as marble from Sicily, and many works of art that decorate every corner of the structure. Each room is, in fact, dedicated to an artist, such as Turi Azzolina, Massimiliano Frumenti, Marta Messina, and Mimmo Guerrera, whose works can also be purchased.

There are 9 rooms, each different from the other, some with a terrace on the Corso and a view of the Arco di Porta Catania, all with refined custom-made furnishings, pure cotton linens, linen curtains and ceramic bathrooms finished in Italian marble with particular attention to respect for the environment in the choice of toiletries.

Interior designers, architects and artisans of the area have worked in synergy with the most important Made in Italy brands, such as Vibia, Flos and Oty, to create beautiful spaces equipped with every comfort.

Open by reservation also to non-guests of the structure, Taodomus is famous for its vegetarian breakfast with a view that is served every morning from 8 to 10 on the terrace on the top floor of the hotel.

Here, resident chef Andrea Graffagnino puts on a real showcooking performance where, in addition to Sicilian citrus jams, organic juices, different types of traditional bread, homemade cakes and biscuits, fresh seasonal fruit, you can order many à la carte delights such as crepes, waffles or avocado toast.

In the evening, from 5 pm, the panoramic terrace becomes the perfect place for a romantic aperitif for both hotel guests and external guests with reservations.

Taodomus also offers, upon reservation, unique experiences that take place on its panoramic terrace: starting from the En Plein Air Painting lessons and the opportunity to be portrayed by the famous Sicilian master Turi Azzolina up to the master classes and private events orchestrated by chef Andrea Graffagnino to learn how to make typical Sicilian dishes, from finger food to traditional desserts…with a view!

Taodomus is special in all seasons, even in winter because it is the only place in the center of Taormina where you can have breakfast in the heated outdoor room overlooking the sea even on the coldest days.

The Secret

It is no coincidence that the myth of Taormina was born in the mid-1800s as a winter tourist destination, so much so that its hotels usually opened in October and closed in June. Many painters, in fact, chose it as a stop for their Grand Tour, from Jean-Pierre Louis Laurent Houël to Robert Hawthorn Kitson, and their story served as inspiration for Olga’s “en plein air” experiences.
