In Taormina, a Mediterranean roof garden suspended between the sea and Mount Etna, opened in the morning for gourmet breakfasts with show cooking and in the evening for sunset aperitifs with a view.

One of the most beautiful panoramic terraces in Taormina with a magnificent view overlooking the Bay of Naxos. This is the setting in which Taodomus Rooftop Bar comes to life, a location located on the top floor of the boutique hotel of the same name, in the central Corso Umberto I, the heart of the city’s social life, open to all by reservation from this season.

In the morning, from 8 to 10, the ritual of breakfast is served and, by reservation, also brunch, the only completely vegetarian gourmands in the city, which the Sicilian mastery in the preparation of desserts and dishes based on pasta, eggs and vegetables makes varied and delicious beyond all expectations.

Starting from the Greek roots of Taormina, we wanted to create for our guests a “domus” where they can savour the best of the city from a culinary and cultural point of view.

The attentive dining room personnel and chef Andrea Graffagnino take care of pampering guests with a very rich menu both buffet and à la carte.

Only healthy, organic and local ingredients, the result of millennial research in the art of Sicilian cuisine that make up a colorful breakfast based on Sicilian citrus jams, juices, different types of traditional bread, homemade cakes and biscuits, fresh seasonal fruit, and many other delicious dishes.

A real show cooking moment, orchestrated in the open kitchen overlooking the terrace, during which the chef prepares, on request, his most delicious specialties, such as crepes, waffles, avocado toast, organic eggs in all styles and a real treat: the caramelized Sicilian brioche with vanilla cream.

Upon request, you can also book master classes with different themes ranging from finger food to traditional desserts.

From the afternoon until 11 pm, the terrace is dressed in the glam of the Taormina golden hour with lounge music, lanterns and a bartender is available to prepare aperitifs and after-dinner drinks based on a selection of the best Made in Sicily distilleries.

The cocktail list draws inspiration from the botany and marine essences of the surrounding area, from the freshness of the sea breeze that embraces the volcanic rock to the scents of the island’s flora, to be accompanied by traditional Sicilian finger food such as mini baked calzones, arancini and ricotta and pistachio truffles.

Taodomus Rooftop Bar is special in all seasons as it is the only place in the center of Taormina where you can have breakfast or a drink in the heated outdoor room overlooking the sea even on the coldest days.

The terrace area can also be reserved for daily brunches or private evening events.

The Secret

All the spaces of Taodomus are decorated with works by Sicilian artists, including Turi Azzolina, Massimiliano Frumenti, Mimmo Guerrera and Marta Messina. A passion for the arts that of the owners that also translates into the possibility of booking painting lessons or even having your portrait taken by famous painters on the roof terrace (upon reservation).
