Inaugurated in 2007 after an important restoration, the history of Villa Carlotta has medieval origins, then transformed into a Moorish villa in 1860 as the home of a local aristocratic family and into a hotel in 1930 until it was purchased by the Quartucci family. The Hotel Villa Carlotta collection includes 23 rooms and suites, 4 luxury apartments and an exclusive private villa located next to the Greek Theater of Taormina, so as to satisfy every need of guests, most with panoramic terraces or balconies overlooking the sea.

The swimming pool is wonderful, immersed in a Mediterranean garden, and the terrace where every morning the breakfast ritual takes place, where the protagonist is a dream buffet prepared express. You can choose from many freshly baked specialties, such as croissants, cakes and the inevitable cannoli homemade by the hotel’s pastry chef, local cheeses and meat cold cuts, fruit and vegetable dishes, artisanal bread served with honey and jams, and à la carte delights such as delicious pancakes.

The jewel in the crown of Villa Carlotta is the Euphoria Restaurant, one of the best in Taormina, also open to non-residents for lunch or dinner. Renovated in June 2025, the new interior design project makes its location, a wonderful panoramic terrace on the top floor overlooking the sea and partly Etna, even more spectacular.

The kitchen brigade offers a menu inspired by Sicilian culinary tradition with dishes such as the Heart of Sicily, Sicilian caponata, eggplant parmigiana and piccadilly with caciocavallo, Linguine with lobster with courgettes and yellow cherry tomatoes, or the marinated and seared sea bass fillet with julienne vegetables, sea bass skin crunch, lemon potato mayonnaise and spring onion.

The maître and sommelier Luigi offers excellent cocktails and an international wine list, while in the adjacent panoramic bar he pampers guests with romantic aperitifs and digestives.

On the top floor, there is the exclusive Lounge Torre, a magical place located in the tower of the Moorish-style building where guests can sit on large sofas and enjoy a cocktail (also privatizable for small private events).

The Secret

The villa was built on pre-existing Byzantine catacombs which can still be seen in the gymnasium and along the road leading to the hotel.
