Maison Bocum is born in Palermo, a bistro and cocktail bar designed by Virga&Milano with the mood of the English private clubs and an original “White room”, a blank canvas that will host solo exhibitions by great artists to offer the pleasure of dining immersed in a work of art always in progress.

Located in the heart of the lively Vucciria neighborhood in Palermo, Maison Bocum is designed as an intimate and private place, where you can relax by choosing how to experience it based on the mood of the moment: from a cocktail with friends to an informal dinner.

At Maison Bocum you might, in fact, eat, have a drink, meet people, attend a lecture, meet a visual artist or a musician, and even read the latest issue of an art magazine or browse a catalog of an exhibition just opened in New York.

Our inspiration was the English Club Houses, expressions of eating and drinking well, of creating meetings and connections, surrounded by culture, art and music.

The interiors are very original, thanks to the collaboration with the AM3 Architetti associati studios and Musumeci Design: a large counter with an open kitchen and a small lounge welcome the guest on the ground floor, while on the first floor there is the White room, with tables for lunch and dinner, the American bar and various private rooms.

The White room is at the center of a truly innovative cultural project which entrusts an artist with the vision of the space of the room, a blank canvas (for a little while longer) therefore, designed so that the guest becomes not only a user or spectator but an integral part of the work.

Precisely in January 2024 Maison Bocum plans to launch the first Open Call for Contemporary Art, designed with the aim of enhancing, promoting and supporting the visual arts and contemporary artists, to design the first site-specific intervention.

The cuisine is international with a menu of dishes, tapas and creative cocktails. From the tuna marinated in almond milk to the meat tartare with hazelnuts, from the legume humus to the catch of the day, everything is orchestrated by the kitchen team and the staff impeccably.

It is no coincidence that Maison Bocum is part of the Virga&Milano group, an absolute guarantee of quality and refinement, which, just opposite, also gave life to the famous Gagini restaurant, 1 Michelin star and a cornerstone of the best Sicilian food and wine.

So much beauty, therefore, for a truly unique urban retreat.

The Secret

The last flight of stairs leads to a small terrace nestled between the roofs of the historic center of Palermo, a smoking room en plein air in the perfect style of the Anglo-Saxon clubhouses.
